Lab Animal Infusion

Rodent Intermittent Infusion Systems

Intermittent Infusion Systems for rodents are designed for studies with breaks between dosing sessions. These pauses may be part of the study design or a 3Rs initiative aimed at reducing animal numbers by reusing rodents across multiple studies. For these studies to succeed, the system must allow for easy connection and disconnection of animals and include features that ensure clean and simple catheter maintenance.

Like continuous infusion studies, these systems require a pump, swivel, swivel mount, tethers, extension lines, and a catheter. However, intermittent studies focus on maintaining functionality while the animal is disconnected.

If you don’t find exactly what you need, please contact us. Whether your focus is chronic infusion, infusion with PK blood collection, or infusion in less common species, we can help design the ideal system for your research.

MOUSE

Mice are valuable research species due to their small size and availability of knock-out models. Mouse Catheter Access Buttons™ simplify use and extend catheter patency for weeks.

RAT

The Catheter Access Button™ has revolutionized infusion systems, providing a clean, easy solution that improves animal welfare. However, the tail cuff method remains a reliable option for rats.

GUINEA PIG

Maintaining catheter patency for long-term studies can be challenging, but Catheter Access Buttons™ help. The easy-to-clean ports minimize issues by reducing pathogen introduction.

Other

We design infusion systems for hamsters, ferrets, and other small animals. Share your needs, and our expert team will develop a safe, effective system tailored to your requirements.
